© Designs by Robin Anne 2004

Materials Needed:                                                                           Large finished image

1 Flour Sack Tea Towel about 28" square, white -- Sold by Quilter Studio

3 ½ yards jumbo rickrack, any color

3 ½ yards medium size rickrack, any color

3 ½ yards baby rickrack, any color

scraps of green, red, yellow fabric--or color of your choice

Fusible web with backing

Optional buttoms

Directions

Using matching thread sew the jumbo rickrack along the top of the towel hem on all 4 sides.  Repeat with the medium and baby size rickrack as shown in the photo.

Using the manufacturer's directions, apply the web to the wrong side of the scraps.  I like to work with at least a 6-inch square, but any size is suitable.  The prints do not have to be the same for each flower.

Trace the pattern pieces on the web and cut out.  Using the photo as a guide, fuse in place in the corner.  Repeat for all 4 corners of the table square.  You can even add a few motifs to the middle or scattered around the square.  Add buttons if desired.  You can also add a small zigzag or embroidery stitch along the outline of the flower for extra stability for washing.

This would look so cute on a picnic table, outdoor buffet table or even inside on a small kitchen table.  You could also use it on a small coffee table or on a hutch.  Use the colors of the rickrack that matches your decor.  These wash so nice you'll think of many uses for this table square.
